In December of 2008, I packed my bags and boarded a plane to a place both familiar and unfamiliar – Hong Kong. What was supposed to be a three month-long backpacking trip has turned into ten years, and counting, of living and traveling around Asia and beyond. By occupation I’m a financial journalist, chasing leads and breaking stories amid the frenzied cityscape of Hong Kong. On weekends and public holidays, however, I try to get away from the news desk and the city and scribble about something other than funds and markets. So then, what I write here is a record of the various travel itches that I’ve satisfied since that fateful backpacking trip, and a periodically-updated narrative on where Ernie goes.
